For the 9th year, Sketchbook Revival knows how to get you moving in the best kind of way, turning hesitation into action page by page. Tens of thousands have already risen to the challenge, so let’s do it again, more powerfully than ever.
For eleven inspiring days, you’ll be guided by an incredible group of 30+ practicing artists, sharing some of their favorite ways to explore their creativity in a sketchbook.
The mission is simple: to empower you to fill your pages and build momentum while you do it.
What makes this challenge different

a supportive structure to help you focus and follow through,
and creative permission to make this experience work for you.
Each day brings fresh inspiration to:

Whether you’re new to creativity or already a pro, bring whatever art supplies you have and it’ll be more than enough to get started. What matters most is showing up as you are, taking action, and letting the challenge work its magic.
I can’t wait for this year’s workshop. Last year over 20,000 joined! We’ll be filling our sketchbook pages with watercolor, pencil, acrylics, collage, ink, charcoal and more to inspire and grow our practices. Sessions are led by accomplished artists, illustrators, art journalers, painters, mixed media artists and art therapists (to name a few) from around the world, including me.
In my session we’re going to paint a botanical illustration!
Dandelion, what do you think is it herbal or weed?
We can learn a lot about examining the herbal flowers and plants before we paint a painting.
So I suggest to fill a sketchbook with your botanical illustrations.
Examine, cut into parts, draw some sketches with permanent markers, write notes of a few important words about how useful it is and paint with aquarelle to know the colour variations. Collect some flower heads and press them and glue them in. I always suggest being friends with your subject before you create.
Let’s start with Dandelion, (it blooms nowadays in spring) while we draw parts of the plant and then a color piece I speak about some useful info about its healing parts, that makes it herb instead of weed.
